In partnership with Foundation Sunflowers, we are implementing Project Sunflowers and launching a program to provide psychological support for children and youth affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine and to help them overcome the emotional trauma they endure.

Foundation Sunflowers initiated the Project following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 to address the rights of those affected by the war. The aim of the Project is to establish a premier database encompassing evidence of mass atrocities perpetrated in Ukraine, as well as details about the victims of this war. The Project’s mission is to supplement the efforts of both national and international authorities tasked with adjudicating war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, aggression, and other significant human rights violations stemming from the invasion of Ukraine.

Project Sunflowers not only aids in the pursuit of justice for victims of the war in Ukraine but also nurtures the assurance that perpetrators of these crimes will face accountability. Further, by hosting open webinars led by legal experts, the Project facilitates education and enhances awareness regarding international criminal law, humanitarian law, migration, human rights, and the rights of victims in armed conflicts.

Project Sunflowers provides a safe and secure platform for witnesses and victims of the war to share their experiences and be heard. Through the aggregation of collective narratives, the Project will offer a holistic perspective, enabling a deeper understanding of the brutality endured throughout the invasion.
